Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz Cars unit plans to double capacity at its car factory in Kecskemet, Hungary, to 300,000 vehicles per year by 2015, Napi Gazdasag reports.
The Budapest-based business newspaper, which cites unidentified sources, says Daimler is already talking to the Hungarian government about the expansion. The €800 million Kecskemet plant, which began making the B-Class small car in March, will add production of the CLA compact coupe next year, according to Napi Gazdasag.
Daimler tells Reuters it has not yet decided whether to boost capacity at the facility.
