Daimler CEO Zetsche Gets 3-Year Contract Extension

As expected, Daimler AG’s supervisory board has extended the company’s contract with CEO Dieter Zetsche for three years to the end of 2019.

Zetsche, 62, also will retain his roles as chair of Daimler’s management board and head of the company’s Mercedes-Benz Cars unit.

The supervisory board points out that Daimler posted Zetsche-led record sales and earnings last year of €8.9 billion ($9.9 billion). The board also praises his ability to “make employees enthusiastic” about the company’s performance targets.
