Daihatsu Motor Co. says it will end production of the tiny Copen roadster, Japan's only miniconvertible, at the end of August.
The company sold only about 56,000 Copen's during the model's 10-year run, according to The Nikkei. The Tokyo-based newspaper says sales fell to about 2,000 units last year from a peak of 11,000 units in 2003. Daihatsu says it hopes to sell 500 of a 10th anniversary special edition Copen this year.
