No other details about the 2019 program were announced. But Cummins says it is exploring several potential partnerships to develop energy storage, power electronics, motor systems and component control systems.
Cummins also is developing systems that can run on alternative fuels such as biofuels, hydrogen and synthetics as well as high-efficiency gasoline technology that promises diesel-like performance and durability. In addition, the company is working on advanced development projects for proton-exchange-membrane and solid-oxide fuel cell technologies.
