A German court has thrown out a wrongful dismissal lawsuit against Daimler AG that was brought by Ernst Lieb, former CEO of its Mercedes-Benz USA unit.
The company fired the 36-year company veteran in October 2011. Daimler said Lieb made "inaccurate" statements during a company audit of overseas spending by executives.
At a court hearing a year ago, Daimler said Lieb used more than $100,000 in company funds to upgrade his home in Mahwah, N.J., with a gym, theater system and other features.
Lieb's lawyer told the Stuttgarter Zeitung newspaper that his client would appeal the ruling.
