A French court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a local union that sought to block PSA Peugeot Citroen from eliminating 8,000 jobs in France.
The challenge was made by CGT, which represents workers at PSA affiliate Faurecia SA. The carmaker owns 57% of the French supplier.
PSA unveiled a restructuring plan in July that includes the job cuts and a factory closing. CGT claims that when PSA met with its European works council that month it failed to adequately describe the impact of the program on its units and affiliates, including Faurecia.
The union says it will appeal the ruling.
