Continental AG has agreed to acquire Cooper Standard Automotive Inc.'s anti-vibration systems business for $265 million.
The deal—which includes five manufacturing plants in Canada, France, India and the U.S.—is expected to be completed in the first half of 2019. The purchase includes a binding offer for most of Cooper-Standard's anti-vibration business in France and a joint venture in India.
Continental will integrate the business into its ContiTech division, which includes its own Vibration Control unit. Conti says it has provided vibration control technology for more than 80 years.
Novi, Mich.-based Cooper Standard is divesting the business to focus on its core sealing systems and fuel and brake line operations.
