Chrysler Group LLC is recalling 67,900 of its 2010 model Jeep Wrangler SUVs to replace a skid plate that could collect debris and cause a fire.
All affected vehicles are equipped with automatic transmissions. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says debris trapped by the plate, which is near the vehicle's catalytic converter, could ignite. Dealers will replace the plate with a skid bar.
Chrysler plans to begin the recall before the end of May.
