Chrysler-Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne says the company would be willing to assemble Mazda vehicles in its plants worldwide including Chrysler facilities if they have available capacity.

Fiat and Mazda announced on Monday that they will jointly develop the next-generation MX-5 Miata sports car for Mazda and an unnamed iteration for Fiat's Alfa Romeo brand. Both two-seaters will be produced at Mazda's plant in Hiroshima about three years from now.

Marchionne also says Fiat would be willing to partner with Mazda on engines and other vehicles.
