Chinese Owners to Show Apollo Supercar Concept in Geneva

Consolidated Ideal TeamVenture, which earlier this month bought German-based Gumpert GmbH and renamed it Apollo Automobil GmbH, plans to unveil a new Apollo concept vehicle at the Geneva auto show.
The company was founded in 2004 by Roland Gumpert, a former Audi engineer who helped develop the company’s Quattro all-wheel-drive technology and led its motorsports program. The only model it produced before going bankrupt in 2012 was the Apollo supercar, which has one of the fastest lap times at Germany’s famed Nuburgring Nordschleife race track.
Gumpert is the second automotive purchase for TeamVenture, a consortium of Chinese investors based in Hong Kong, following last year’s acquisition of De Tomaso Automobili. At the time, the company announced plans to use the De Tomaso name on an unspecified line of new cars.
