General Motors Co.’s Chevrolet unit will unveil all-new versions of its Tracker and Trailblazer SUV/crossover models at this month’s Shanghai auto show.

GM says the 2020 models will feature GM’s latest propulsion, connectivity and safety technologies. Chevy released darkened teaser images of the vehicles but didn’t offer any details.

The Trailblazer is expected to be a compact SUV/crossover that could replace the current Trax, according to media reports. Design cues will be borrowed from the all-new Blazer midsize crossover that bowed earlier this year.

Previous spy shots of the smaller Tracker crossover indicate the vehicle will feature a slender grille, sculpted hood and plastic body cladding. The new Tracker is expected to ride on GM's low-cost GEM platform, which was developed to carry vehicles for emerging markets.

Chevy last used the Tracker name, which was introduced as part of the company’s short-lived Geo brand, in the U.S. in 2004. The name has continued to be used sporatically on rebadged Trax models in such regions as Russia and certain Central and South American countries.

Chevy introduced the TrailBlazer name in 1999 as an upscale trim line for the S-10 Blazer SUV in North America. The nameplate split from the Blazer in 2001 and continued on its own until it was discontinued in 2009. A redesigned model was introduced in Asia and Brazil in 2012.
