Eindhoven, Netherlands-based Chassis Brakes International (CBI) Chassis Brakes International has moved its application and engineering center in Germany to a larger facility.
The new 54,000-sq-ft center in Heilbronn, Germany, is more than twice the size of the previous facility in nearby Abstatt. The move reflects CBI’s “significant growth” in Germany, according to the company.
About 80% of the new center is devoted to product-development activities, while the remainder will be used for sales and administrative offices. The company says the Heilbronn center includes expanded capabilities for NVH and overall vehicle testing. Electric and autonomous vehicle engineering are expected to be added later.
CBI supplies disc and drum brakes, electro-mechanical parking brakes, calipers and rotors. The company, whose origins date to the 1930s when it was part of the former Bendix Corp., is owned by U.S. private equity firm KPS Capital Partners LP.
