New-car deliveries jumped 15% in France and 24% in Spain last month, local trade groups reports.

Deliveries in France in June climbed to a four-year high of 225,600 units, according to CCFA. Volume was helped by two extra sales days this year. Adjusted sales for the month gained nearly 5%.

Sales in France through the first half of 2015 totaled slightly more than 1 million units, up 6% from the same period last year.

In Spain, yet another renewal of a long-running government-industry scrappage scheme pushed June sales of passenger vehicles to 111,300 units from 90,000 a year earlier, says ANFAC. The program gives buyers who scrap an old car and buy a new one €2,000.

Spain's auto market soared 22% to 555,200 units through the first half of the year.
