Car Sales Show Slight Gain in Canada

Sales of cars and light trucks in Canada grew to 177,800 units last month from 177,100 in July 2014, according to DesRosiers Automotive Consultants Inc.

The Toronto based firm says demand for light trucks rose 8% to 111,100 units, accounting for 62% of the total market. Car sales dropped 10%.

Canada's best-selling carmakers in July were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (+2% to 28,600 units), Ford (-6% to 27,200), General Motors (-5% to 22,800), Toyota (-1% to 16,500) and Honda (+8% to 15,700).
