New-car registrations of passenger vehicles in Germany last month climbed 9% to 298,000 units, according to the country’s KBA transport authority.

Sales to individuals zoomed 22%. Deliveries to business fleets rose 4%. KBA says registrations in January-September totaled 2.56 million units, up 6% from the same period in 2015.

Volume also improved in Europe’s other major markets. September sales rose in France (+3% to 168,800 units), Italy (+17% to 152,700) and Spain (+14% to 79,600), according to government agencies and industry trade groups.
