Car Sales Rise 7% in France
Passenger vehicle sales in France grew to 98,300 units in August compared with 92,000 in the same period last year, according to industry trade group CCFA.

Sales by PSA Group were flat last month at 26,800 units, as declines for the company’s Citroen and DS brands offset a 7% gain for Peugeot. Domestic rival Renault SA saw sales jump 14% to 23,000 units.
Among foreign brands, August sales shrank 8% to 13,200 for sector leader Volkswagen Group. A 19% drop in demand for VW brand vehicles overwhelmed gains by the group’s Audi, Skoda, SEAT and Porsche marques.
