Car Sales Rise 6% in Germany

New-car registrations in Germany advanced to 291,400 units last month from 274,100 in April 2014, according to the country's federal transport authority.

Deliveries by the Volkswagen brand rose 4% to 62,700 units. Other high-volume gainers were Audi (+5% to 27,100), Mercedes-Benz (+4% to 24,600), BMW (+8% to 22,100), Ford (+8% to 21,800) and Opel (+7% to 21,200).

Overall market volume in Germany for the first four months of 2015 totaled 1.05 million, up 6% from the same period last year.
