Car Sales Continue to Grow in France, Italy, Spain

In France, sales grew 2% to 204,100 units, trade group CCFA reports. Renault's volume advanced nearly 3% to 54,100 units, led by a 4% gain for the Renault brand. PSA Peugeot Citroen sales were virtually flat at 61,000 units.
In Italy, April sales zoomed 25% to 148,800 units. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles accounted for 43,300 of the total.
In Spain, new-car registrations advanced a modest 3% to 82,700, according to industry association ANFAC. That compares with a 41% jump to 112,300 units in March, when buyers rushed to benefit from the final month of the government's long-running scrappage program for old cars.
