Car Sales Climb 6% in U.K.

Registrations of new passenger vehicles in the U.K. grew 6% to 425,900 units in September, marking 32 months of consecutive year-on-year gains, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

SMMT says demand appears to be leveling. But it expects the British market to reach 2.45 million this year, the best result in a decade.

Last month's top-selling models were the Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf, Vauxhall Corsa and VW Polo.
