British car production declined to 149,000 units in October from 150,100 units a year earlier, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Ltd.
The U.K.’s output through the first 10 months of 2015 rose 3% to 1.32 million units, the best volume since 2005. The SMMT notes that exports for the period advanced 1%, including a 2% gain to 117,900 units last month.
The industry group says British auto output “remains in a strong position” in spite of sluggish demand in several of the U.K.’s key export markets.
