Car, Light-Truck Sales Jump Nearly 14% in Russia
Sales of new cars and light-duty commercial vehicles in Russia rose to a record 255,600 units in July from 224,900 units a year earlier, according to the Moscow-based Assn. of European Businesses.

Lada remained Russia's best-selling brand, although its July sales slipped 7% to 47,100 units. Chevrolet ranked second as demand for its models jumped 28% to 20,200 vehicles.
Other top sellers were Kia (+24% to 17,100), Renault (+24% to 16,600 units), Volkswagen (+33% to 14,500) and Hyundai (+11% to 14,300).
Cumulative car and light-truck sales through the first seven months of 2012 grew 14% to nearly 1.7 million vehicles, according to AEB.
