Bridgestone Corp. has expanded its DriveGuard line of run-flat replacement tires to include most minivans, crossovers and small SUVs in the U.S.

DriveGuard all-season tires previously were available only in car sizes. The seven new sizes—with rim diameters as large as 19-inches—can fit more than 80% of minivans and 43% of crossovers and small SUVs equipped with tire pressure monitoring systems, according to Bridgestone.

Bridgestone’s run-flat technology, which use specially designed sidewalls to temporarily support tires without air, allows vehicles to travel 50 miles at speeds as high as 50 mph after a tire has been punctured. The new size range is available this month in Bridgestone stores in the U.S.
