Brembo Posts Strong Sales, Earnings

Brake system supplier Brembo SpA reports its consolidated revenue in the fourth quarter of 2016 rose 8% to €565 million ($600 million), and net profit gained 5% to €55 million ($58 million).
For the full year, consolidated revenue grew 10% to €2.3 billion ($2.4 billion), and net profit jumped 31% to €241 million ($255 million).
Sales last year by vehicle type gained 12% for cars, 8% for commercial vehicles and 6% for motorbikes. Revenue rose in all regions except South America, where volume fell 10%. Sales in the company’s two largest markets—North America and Germany—expanded 28% and 23%, respectively.
Revenue zoomed 68% in China last year, with half the growth contributed by an acquisition.
