England’s newly formed Brabham Automotive Ltd. unveiled its first model, the BT62 hypercar, on Wednesday.

The track-focused car features a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Carbon-fiber body panels hold the vehicle’s weight to 2,140 lbs.

Brabham tuned the car’s naturally aspirated 5.4-liter V-8 engine, which is based on an existing mill from an unspecified carmaker, to generate 700 hp and 492 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated with a 6-speed Hollinger sequential-shift gearbox.

A double-wishbone suspension is used in the front and rear. Other goodies include 18-inch center-lock wheels and carbon-on-carbon brakes—carbon rotor and pads—actuated via six-piston calipers.

Aerodynamic features include a front splitter, rear diffuser and large rear wing. Brabham says the package can generate more than 2,600 lbs of downforce.

The carmaker, which was officially launched in February, will build the cars in Australia. Production will be limited to 70 vehicles with pricing due to start at $1.4 million, which includes on-track driving lessons. Deliveries are expected to start later this year.
