Robert Bosch GmbH says fast-growing demand for driver aids such as automatic braking and lane-keeping will create a record €1 billion in annual sales for the company next year of such devices as radar, ultrasonic sensors and video cameras.

Reuters reports that Bosch's sales of such devices doubled from 2013 to 2014 and will do so again this year. The company's net sales last year were nearly €49 billion.

Management board member Dirk Hoheisel notes the company now has some 2,000 engineers working on automated driver assist products today compared with 1,300 doing so two years ago.
