BMW AG took the wraps off its new X2 crossover concept today at the Paris auto show. A production version will debut in 2018, according to the company.
The X2 is built on the same front-drive platform that carries the smaller X1 crossover and upcoming Mini Countryman, but it gets sportier, coupe-like styling. Design features include an aggressive front-end with a wide stance, muscular bumpers, inverted kidney grille and distinctive x-pattern headlights.
The concept crossover also sports a sharply raked windshield that transitions into a low roofline, pronounced fenders and large wheel arches. The rear features a prominent spoiler, high-mounted bumper and taillights that widen as they curve around the back corners.
