BMW AG will reveal a concept crossover vehicle at next month’s Paris auto show, Autocar reports. The vehicle will preview the oft-rumored X2 sporty small crossover expected to be introduced in about a year.
The X2, which promises to bridge the gap between small hatchbacks and larger crossovers, will share a platform with and be about the same size as the tiny X1 crossover. But it will get a steeper windshield, lower roofline and more aggressive grille, according to Autocar, which cites unnamed BMW marketing insiders.
The treatment would be similar to that of the larger X4 and X6 Bimmers, which are sportier versions of X3 and X5 crossovers. The X2’s interior and engine options likely will mirror those of the X1.
