BMW's AG is moving away from manual transmissions in favor of dual-clutch units and conventional automatic gearboxes.
BMW M chief Frank van Meel tells Autocar that sales of manual gearboxes are dwindling and that automatics and dual-clutch systems are faster and more fuel efficient. Van Meel also says the output of future M cars will be capped at 600 hp.
