BMW Sales Climb 7% in August

BMW Group reports its car sales grew to 156,400 units last month from 145,900 in August 2014.

Monthly deliveries of BMW-brand vehicles rose nearly 8% to 135,700. Sales of Mini small cars advanced 5% to 20,500 units.

Group sales through the first eight months of 2015 climbed 7% to 1.43 million units. Volumes for the period rose in Europe (+11% to 622,600), China (+1% to 301,500) and the U.S. (+7% to 263,900).

Demand for BMW brand cars and crossover vehicles in January-August grew 6% to 1.22 million year on year. Sales of Mini cars surged 21% to 211,800 in the same period, according to the company.
