BMW Group sales in March jumped 9% to a record 232,600 units worldwide, the company reports.

Demand for BMW-brand vehicles in March rose 5% to a record 195,600 units, and Mini sales soared 39% to 36,600 units.

Last month's BMW-Mini volumes rose 12% to 114,300 vehicles in Europe and 10% to 47,400 units in the Americas. Sales in the U.S. grew 12% to 40,100. In Asia, deliveries advanced 5% to 65,000 vehicles, led by an 8% increase to 43,800 units in mainland China.

First-quarter totals climbed 8% to 526,700 units for the group, 5% to 451,600 for the BMW brand and 28% to 74,300 for Mini. All three totals were company records.
