BMW AG says this year's debut of 16 new or refreshed models will help push the company's sales volume and pretax profits to record highs.
Last year BMW's group sales totaled 1.96 million vehicles, up 6% on strong demand for its 3 Series cars. The company expects its sales to advance 2% this year, thus topping 2 million units for the first time ever.
BMW also expects to begin reducing its spending on product development from €4.8 billion about 6.3% of revenue last year toward a target of 5%-5.5% a few years from now.
