The Swiss Supreme Court has rejected BMW AG’s appeal of a fine it received for blocking Swiss citizens from buy its cars at lower prices in other European countries, Reuters reports.

BMW was fined 157 million Swiss francs ($158 million) in 2012 for ordering its European dealers not to ship cars to Switzerland from other European locations. BMW typically charges 20%-25% more for BMW and Mini brand vehicles it sells in Switzerland than in neighboring countries.

Swiss competition authority WEKO received nearly two dozen complaints about the same practice. It ruled that BMW was violating Swiss law and imposed the fine. Today’s supreme court ruling agreed that BMW had been illegally propping up prices in Switzerland.
