BMW AG reports record sales of 198,400 vehicles in May, up 5%. Deliveries through the first five months advanced by the same proportion to 935,300 units.

BMW AG reports record sales of 198,400 vehicles in May, up 5%. Deliveries through the first five months advanced by the same proportion to 935,300 units.

Worldwide BMW brand sales in May climbed 6% to 168,100 units. Demand for Mini subcompact cars rose 4% to 29,900. Deliveries by the two brands jumped 12% to 91,300 vehicles in Europe and gained 6% to 58,700 in Asia.

May sales in China advanced 6% to 40,100 vehicles. But volume fell 9% to 33,600 units in the U.S.

The group’s most popular models last month in terms of sales growth were the 2 Series small car (+48% to 16,800 units), X1 small SUV (+48% to 13,900), X4 sporty crossover (+13% to 4,900) and 7 Series large sedan (+32% to 4,500).
