UPDATE: BMW Group Set Sales Record in January

BMW AG reports its sales grew 8% to a record 152,900 units in January. BMW and Mini brand sales climbed 8% to 133,900 units and 9% to a record 18,900 units, respectively.

But results left BMW in third place behind rivals Mercedes-Benz and Audi, which outsold the company in January with sales of 150,800 vehicles and 143,200 units, respectively.

BMW’s volume rose 11% in Europe and 10% in Asia. The company blames a 3% drop in deliveries in the Americas to snowstorms that hit much of the U.S.
