In September select BMW AG dealers will begin selling an electric scooter with a starting price of €800 ($900).
Developed in partnership with U.K.-based Micro Scooter Ltd., the new BMW E-Scooter weighs about 20 lbs and has an 8-mile driving range. Top speed is 12 mph. It takes two hours to fully recharge the battery via a standard household outlet.
Featuring what’s described as a triple-secured locking mechanism, the scooter can be folded up and stored when not in use. BMW says the scooter has redundant braking systems for added safety.
