Bentley to Share Porsche Panamera Platform?

Volkswagen AG's Bentley Cars luxury unit will build its next-generation models on Porsche's Panamera sedan platform, Autocar reports, without citing any sources.

The British enthusiast magazine says VW, which finalized its acquisition of Porsche AG a month ago, is working on a Panamera-derived platform to carry all future rear- and all-wheel-drive Bentley models.

Autocar opines that the new platform will allow Bentley engines to be positioned further rearward, thus improving weight distribution. The architecture also can accommodate VW's next-generation 12-cylinder engine.
