Bentley to go Hyper?

Volkswagen AG's Bentley Motors unit is considering an ultra-exclusive supercar in conjunction with the brand's 100th anniversary in 2019.

CEO Wolfgang Durheimer tells Top Gear that he can envision a so-called hypercar model priced at about $1.5 million. Durheimer, who previously helmed Bugatti and was head of research and development of Porsche, says such a vehicle could be constructed from carbon fiber and other lightweight materials to compete against rival "big gun" supercars.

If approved, the model would likely be limited to a few dozen units or less.
