Volkswagen AG’s top-end Bentley and Lamborghini brands have pulled out of next week’s Paris auto show, Reuters reports.
Bentley tells the news agency it is focusing on small events to market more directly to potential buyers. Lamborghini also plans to take a more targeted approach.
The moves come amid VW’s cost-cutting efforts in the wake of the carmaker’s diesel-emission cheating scandal, which is expected to cost the carmaker more than $20 billion. VW plans to focus its Paris display on electric vehicles and new mobility services.
Aston Martin, Ford and Volvo also are skipping the Paris show.
