Bentley Motors Ltd. chief designer Luc Donckerwolke is miffed at the styling of Ford Motor Co.'s Lincoln Continental concept, claiming the car looks too much like the $200,500 Bentley Flying Spur.
Both cars share a similar side window surround, C-pillar shape and wheel well shoulders. But the cars feature distinctly different headlamp, grille and rear end treatments.
"This behavior is not respectable," Donckerwolke sniffed to Car Design News. He also posted a note on Lincoln chief designer David Woodhouse's Facebook page, asking sarcastically if Ford wanted to borrow the Flying Spur's production tooling.
Ford stoutly denied copying anybody's design, declaring its Continental has its own character and architecture.
