Chrysler Group LLC has begun recalling 25,500 Fiat 500L minicars to replace the driver's knee airbag, which may not deploy properly in a crash.
The problem, which affects 2014-2015 models, is due to airbags that were not manually folded correctly during the manufacturing process. Chrysler says affected cars were equipped with devices supplied by TRW Automotive Holdings Corp.'s manufacturing plant in Czestochowa, Poland.
The company says it is not aware of any injuries related to the flaw, which was discovered during a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration crash test.
