Baby Honda NSX Coming in 2018

Honda Motor Co. is readying a smaller version of its upcoming Acura NSX supercar, Auto Express reports. It says the so-called baby NSX, which has been rumored previously, also will feature a hybrid-electric powertrain.
Due in 2018, the smaller car will replicate the NSX's mid-engine layout and lightweight spaceframe construction (aluminum and carbon fiber-reinforced plastic), according to the U.K. enthusiast publication. It says the car will weigh less than 3,100 lbs and compete against the Alfa Romeo 4C and Porsche Cayman sports cars.
The base engine will be a 330-hp version of the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that will power Honda's new Civic Type R small car. An electric motor will generate another 70 hp for a total of 400 hp. The engine will be mated with a 9-speed dual -clutch transmission.
