Auto Veteran Beattie Joins Kawasaki
Kawasaki Motors Corp. has hired former Jaguar Land Rover executive Richard Beattie as its chief marketing and sales officer for the U.S. and Latin America.

Kawasaki Motors Corp. has hired former Jaguar Land Rover executive Richard Beattie as its chief marketing and sales officer for the U.S. and Latin America.
Beattie will be responsible for marketing, sales and product strategy for the maker of motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and jet skis. He will report to Tak Teranishi, president of the Irvine, Calif.-based unit.
Beattie was chief commercial officer for ailing hybrid car maker Fisker Automotive Inc. until November. He began his career as a finance trainee at Ford Motor Co. in 1973.
Beginning in the early 1990s, Beattie held a series of increasingly senior sales and marketing jobs at Ford's Jaguar unit. He also served as CEO of Ford affiliate Mazda Motor Corp.'s North American unit in 1997-2000 and head of Lincoln-Mercury sales and marketing in 2001-2002.
