Sales of passenger and commercial vehicles in Argentina slid to 64,700 units last month from 76,000 units in May 2011, according to automaker group ADEFA.

Demand for passenger vehicles declined 12% to 49,700 units. Volume dropped 22% to 12,700 units for light trucks and 29% to 2,300 units for medium- and heavy-duty trucks.

In the first five months of 2012, vehicle sales in Argentina have dipped 2% to 325,400 vehicles.
