Audi AG is calling back nearly 238,000 of its Audi cars in the U.S. to replace passenger-side frontal airbag systems whose Takata Corp. inflators could explode in a crash.
The recall supersedes three earlier recalls, including vehicles that may have been serviced for the same problem under those campaigns.
Models covered by the new recall are:
- A4 and S4 sedans and Avants made in 2005-2008
- A4 and S4 Cabriolets made in 2007-2009
- RS4 Cabriolets built in 2004
- RS4 sedans made in 2007-2008
- A6 large sedans produced in 2005-2011
- A6 Avants made in 2006-2011
- S6 large sedans produced in 2005-2011
