BMW AG’s Rolls-Royce unit is recalling a single vehicle in the U.S. to replace the front-seat thorax airbags, which the carmaker says aren’t compliant with federal safety regulations for side-impact protection.
The campaign affects a 2015-model Ghost luxury sedan built on January 23, 2014. It’s said to be the first time a recall has been issued for one specific car. A local dealership will replace the car’s driver- and passenger-side thorax airbags.
The base price of the 2015 Ghost was $287,000. Rolls sells fewer than 100 cars per month in the U.S. and does not disclose data for individual models.
