Aston Martin Holdings Ltd. says an SUV/crossover vehicle will be the first model to carry the company’s all-electric Lagonda brand in 2021.

The iconic British carmaker dropped the Lagonda marque, a brand that dates to 1906, when it stopped making the Aston Martin Lagonda in 1989.

The company says the look of the “radical” new SUV will borrow from the dramatic styling of the Vision Concept car unveiled by the company in March at the Geneva auto show. CEO Andy Palmer says the new SUV will feature “near-future” technologies and a design that sheds traditional norms for “21st century demands and desires.”

The company said last summer it will offer hybrid powertrains in all its models within 10 years but plans to continue conventionally powered cars at least to 2040. The company’s first SUV, the piston-powered DBX, is due in 2019.
