Troy, Mich.-based Aptiv plc says it has completed its $500 million acquisition of KUM Co., a South Korean supplier of electrical connectors and cable systems.

Aptiv, which was spun off from Delphi Automotive in December, says the acquisition will enhance its position in Asia and complements its line of engineered components. The company expects to fully integrate KUM into its Asia Pacific operations by year-end.

Based in Ulsan, KUM was founded in 1987 as Korea Union Machine Co. The company produces connectors, covers, band cables, terminals and other plastic, metal and silicon-rubber products.
