Aisin Names New U.S. Tech Center Chief

Japanese component supplier Aisin Seiki Co. Ltd. has appointed Yoshiaki Kato as president of its technical center in Plymouth, Mich.

He succeeds Takashi Aoyama, who will continue as senior technical advisor at the facility. In his new role, Kato also will oversee Aisin's 950-acre test track and proving ground in Fowlerville, Mich.

Kato was part of Toyota Motor Co.'s technical center in Ann Arbor, Mich., before joining Aisin in 2006.
