Audi AG is recalling about 850,000 of its A4 models to reprogram software that could prevent front airbags from deploying in a crash.
The campaign includes sedans, wagons and AllRoad models built in the 2013-2015 model years. About 250,000 of the cars are in Germany and 101,900 are in the U.S., according to the company. It notes that affected airbag systems were not supplied by Takata Corp.
Audi did not immediately reveal where the other cars are located. The company says the software update can be performed in a few minutes.
