Adient Opens Fabric Plant in Morocco

Plymouth, Mich.-based Adient plc is opening a fabric manufacturing plant in Kenitra, Morocco.

Material produced at the facility will be used in seats and other interior components for carmakers in northern Africa and southern Europe. Customers include BMW, Nissan, Opel, PSA and Renault.

The plant will use a lamination process, which Adient says binds fabric layers together to create higher endurance, greater resilience and a premium look and feel. Production is expected to start at the end of the month.
